Canadian company True Gold Mining places its trust in BIA’s expertise and the reliability of Komatsu machines to exploit the Karma gold mine in Burkina Faso.
Located 195 km from Ouagadougou, the Karma mine has an operating surface of 856 km2 and comprises five gold deposits. To cope with this colossal operation, it was essential for True Gold Mining to obtain robust, reliable equipment. That is why the Canadian company has just acquired the following Komatsu fleet for the mine construction phase:
- A hydraulic excavator PC 3000-8
- a front-end loader WA 800-3E 0
- 6 rigid-frame haul trucks HD785-7
- 4 bulldozers D275A-6R
- 2 graders GD825A-2
In addition to delivering the fleet, before the end of 2014, BIA will handle its commissioning. There will also be a maintenance agreement, and the supply of replacement parts.
But the collaboration between BIA and True Gold Mining doesn’t end there! True Gold Mining also intends to place a second order for machines to kick off the production phase of the mine (in 2015). One excavator and eight dumper trucks will join the initial fleet. With these additional machines, True Gold Mining aims to extract 14 million tonnes per year.
