BIA enters the Brussels 20 km run with the Red Cross to improve access to drinking water in Burundi

May 23, 2014 Uncategorized

On Sunday 18th May, 20 members of the BIA group, of all ages and backgrounds, joined the 40,200 runners in the Brussels 20 km run. Participation in this essential event in the May calendar was the BIA employees’ way of mobilizing to raise money for a charity to help Africa.

Their energetic efforts raised 3308 euros for the Red Cross operation “Run 20 km and give them water”. These donations will add to the 79,405 euros already raised by the Red Cross. Concretely, this money will be used to improve access to drinking water in Burundi. Thanks to this action by the Red Cross, approximately 1800 families in Burundi will soon have a source of drinking water.

This is the first time that this type of social and sporting action has been organized by employees of the BIA Group, but we are sure it will not be the last… In any case, we have already made plans for the Brussels 20 km run in 2015!
